Lady Tide Routed In Season Opener 16-1 By DuBois Central Catholic

DUBOIS – After its home season opener against Elk County Catholic was postponed last Friday, the Curwensville Lady Tide softball squad got the 2019 season underway Tuesday, on the road, against DuBois Central Catholic (DCC).

All didn’t end well though for the Lady Tide, losing to the Lady Cardinals 16-1 in a game that saw DCC scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the second.

Curwensville gave up 11 hits in the shortened 15-run mercy rule contest that ended in the bottom of the third but also didn’t help its cause by committing six errors.

Morgan Tyler, winning DCC pitcher, gave up no hits in the brief encounter with the Lady Tide.

Carly Semanick and Jordan Kosko each had two hits for DuBois Central Catholic with Kosko, Shyanne Lundy and Mia Meholic smacking doubles.

Chelsea Busatto, Lundy and Kosko paced the Lady Cardinals with two RBI’s apiece.

The lone run for the Lady Tide was scored by Alex Zattoni.

DCC is now 2-0 on the year, winning for the second time in as many days.

Curwensville (0-1) is on the road for a Thursday game at Brockway with the Lady Rovers at 4:15 pm.
