CLEARFIELD – The municipalities, schools, hospitals and other facilities in Clearfield County will be participating in a statewide weather emergency exercise today.
A brief announcement was made by Emergency Services Director Joe Bigar at the conclusion of today’s regular commissioners’ meeting in an effort to alert area residents.
“… It’s a local exercise being done through the Pennsylvania state EOC (Emergency Operations Center),” he said. “… it’s to prepare for emergencies.
“It used to be called the spring weather exercise. If you hear rumblings on the street that there is a tornado or high winds, it is just an exercise.
“… [We stress that] it’s an exercise, exercise, exercise. Sometimes, the public hears about it … and thinks there is or was actually something going on. It’s just an exercise.”
