Local resident Georgi Bennett has announced her candidacy for Centre County Recorder of Deeds.
Bennett has an extensive background working in both the private and public sector. Recognizing the value of community involvement in addition to her experience in finance, budgeting, and customer service, Bennett decided to campaign to become Recorder of Deeds.
She emphasizes the importance of getting involved in local politics to fairly represent her friends and neighbors in public service, which is why she has run for row office not once, but twice.
Bennett wants to raise awareness of the position, saying “I’d like to educate my community about what the row office does and what it can do for others. By doing that, I’ll be giving back to my community in the best way possible.”
Currently, Bennett is the co-owner of a small farm, raising horses and beef cattle with her husband Ralph. She is active in the Centre County Democratic Committee, the Centre Hall Lions Club and the Fraternal Order of Police.
As a native of Centre County, Bennett attended Bald Eagle Area High School. She has worked as a customer service account analyst, as a budgeting and accounting assistant and has also worked in the Clinton County Recorder and Register Office.
The Recorder of Deeds office maintains permanent public records involving a wide variety of instruments or documents that detail transactions involving real estate, personal property, mortgages, leases and more.
Bennett’s excellence in finance, organization, servicing the public and experience working in the Clinton County Recorder and Register office is why she believes she is an ideal candidate for the office.
