CURWENSVILLE – New officers bring some new insight to the Curwensville Borough Planning Commission.
At Monday’s Curwensville Borough Council meeting, Mayor John Adams gave a report on a recent meeting of the planning commission.
Adams said that he was appointed chairman of the commission and David Rose has been appointed as vice-chairman.
He said the commission discussed an unfinished zoning project. Adams said that the council and the planning commission had discussed changing the zoning for Susquehanna Avenue, but no action was ever taken.
Adams said the commission was looking to change the zoning in order to provide more options for new business to locate in Curwensville.
He said he has been speaking with potential business owners as well as developers, but nothing definitive is in the works.
Adams said the commission has invited Code Enforcement Officer Tom Carfley to their next meeting to discuss other properties in the borough.
In other business, the council voted to begin phasing out the borough cell phones, to award the bids for the Anderson Street Project to Dave Roman Excavating in the amount of $94,205 and to pay the bills in the amount of $14,574.79.
