Tyrone Hospital has totally reinvented the services it offers to businesses to meet their employee health care needs with the introduction of its Company Healthcare program.
With Company Healthcare, employers can now access a broader range of services and will experience significant upgrades in customer service.
Company Healthcare was developed based on feedback from area employers with the goal of better accommodating employer needs.
The providers who developed and staff Company Healthcare collectively bring more than 35 years of occupational health experience to the program.
Steve Um, M.D., an occupational health physician with more than 28 years of experience, serves as medial director of Company Healthcare.
Um is a certified Medical Review Officer and a certified Department of Transportation Examiner. “I’m excited to be part of the Tyrone Regional team and providing this much needed service to the business community,” said Um.
Sharon Stiver, MS, CRNP, certified medical examiner, has provided occupational health services for more than eight years.
Stiver serves as the primary medical provider for Company Healthcare and served as lead in development of the program.
Stiver came to Tyrone from J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, where she developed a start-up occupational health program that grew to serve more than 500 area businesses.
“I’m excited to provide this much needed service for employers in Blair County and surrounding areas. Tyrone Hospital understands the need for a dedicated Occupational Health program, and I’m happy to be a part of it,” said Stiver.
With Company Healthcare, services have been consolidated to a separate facility located on the Tyrone Hospital campus.
The facility offers dedicated staff and a one stop shop focused on employer needs. Any imaging services are accessible at Tyrone Hospital.
The new location provides a dry bathroom for urine drug screens and sound proof booth for hearing screening. There is also an expanded range of services. A broader range of physical exams are available.
All types of drug screen testing are offered including hair and urine. Breath alcohol testing is offered as well as a drug and alcohol consortium.
Customer service enhancements include speedier turnaround times for results, work status summaries provided at every visit and expedited patient care. New software has also been purchased to handle specific occupational health needs.
“We want area employers to know that we are dedicated to providing a service that is specific to their needs and we look forward to serving them,” said Stiver.
Services now accessible to area employers through Company Healthcare include but are not limited to Department of Transportation, commercial truck driver and school bus driver physicals, treating and managing workers’ compensation injuries, conducting post-job offer and fitness-for-duty physicals, administering drug screenings and breath alcohol testing, immunizations, physical and occupational therapy services and conducting respiratory fit testing.
