SPRINGS MILLS – The Clearfield Bison boys basketball team lost a road game Wednesday night at Penns Valley, 59-47, in a Mountain league game.
The Bison, who scored just four points in the first quarter were able to stay close to the Rams, trailing only 24-21 at the half.
However, Penns Valley won the third eight minutes 16-9 and the second half 35-26 to pick up the 12-point win.
A big deciding factor in the Rams’ win was in the rebounding department were Penns Valley out rebounded the Bison 33-19.
Cade Walker had 16 points for Clearfield while Karson Rumsky added 13.
The Rams had three players in double figures with Cameron Shaffer leading the way with 19 tallies and Logan Snyder hitting for 16 and Caleb Narber scoring 10.
Clearfield is now 6-5 on the 2018-19 season and 2-3 in Mountain League action.
Penns Valley also won the junior varsity game by a score of 49-37.
The Bison will play again on Friday night at home in another Mountain League game against visiting Central. The JV game starts at 6 pm with the varsity to immediately follow.
