Supervisor Jeremy Ruffner said they believe the fire had been burning for some time before the pastor saw the flames and called in it around 4:44 a.m.
Supervisor Randy Powell added that while the fire companies responded quickly, they were unable to save the building due to the time between when the fire started and it was reported.
The board also heard an update on the Lawrence Recreation Park and learned that the recreation board has ordered a new security system through The Phone Guys.
The system will include two long-range cameras and four other cameras, and will be installed soon.
