State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred Sept. 25 on Grouse Drive in Morris Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s vehicle and removed a black purse, bank card, Pennsylvania driver’s license, birth certificate and social security card. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred Sept. 25 on Deer Creek Road in Morris Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s vehicle and removed a tan with floral platter, an Amazon Kindle, a leather case, a white gold chain with a half-karat pendant and cash. - State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Friday in Decatur Township. During the incident, two Morrisdale women engaged in a verbal dispute that turned physical when one allegedly pulled the other’s hair. Then, she fled the scene. Charges were filed through the district court as a result.
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Friday on McAteer Street in Woodward Township. During the incident, someone allegedly scratched the victim’s car.
- State police received a report about a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred Saturday or Sunday on Lake Street in Bradford Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered a vehicle and removed a Tom Tom GPS unit and Springfield firearms. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about a theft that occurred Sept. 9-10 in the area of Brink and Black Elk roads in Chest Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took two road closed signs before fleeing the scene. State police are continuing their investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact 814-938-0510.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Thursday on Alleghany Boulevard in Brookville Borough. During the incident, a female allegedly threatened a Brookville police officer. State police say the female admitted to committing the crime, and she was charged through the district court.
State police at Ridgway
- State police reported on an incident of DUI that occurred Saturday on Shelvey Road in Fox Township. During a traffic stop, a 29-year-old Brockport man was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently transported to Penn Highlands Elk for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending at this time.
Clearfield Borough
- Police conducted a vehicle stop along West Front Street. According to police, a male had an active arrest warrant for drug-related charges through the Pittsburgh Police Department. In addition, police allegedly located drug paraphernalia, and the male was transported to county jail.
- Police encountered a suspicious vehicle in the Clearfield Driving Park. According to police, the male driver had an active arrest warrant for a trespassing incident through the Lawrence Township police. Township officers arrived on-scene and transported the male to the jail on the warrant.
- Police responded to a parking complaint along East Locust Street. However, the complaint was unfounded.
- Police assisted several motorists who had locked their keys inside their vehicles.
- Police received a report about a disturbance on Elm Avenue. According to police, a male and female became engaged in an argument that turned physical. Charges are currently pending as a result of the incident.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a male on South Fourth Street. Police were able to make entry and found the male in need of medical attention. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported the male to the hospital.
- Police received a report about kids who were sitting on the roadway along West Front Street.
- Police located a female who was reportedly trespassing in Lower Witmer Park. She was offered services but declined them. She was requested to leave the park area.
- Police received a parking complaint on East Walnut Street. However, police were unable to locate any violations.
- Police arrested a male for public intoxication along East Market Street after he was reportedly found under the influence of controlled substances.
Lawrence Township
- Police conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a warrant service Monday on state Route 879 near Wolf Run. When contact was made, police discovered the vehicle displayed an expired inspection sticker. In addition, it was discovered the male driver – Michael S. Gearhart, 31, of Clearfield – had an active warrant through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department. He was taken into custody and subsequently to county jail, where he was housed on two citations.
- Police responded to a reported trespassing incident Wednesday at the Edgewood Apartments. Upon arrival on-scene, police located Jeremy M. Sipe, 39, of Clearfield hiding in an upstairs bedroom closet. While he was being detained, he allegedly jumped from a second-story window and fled into a wooded area behind the apartment complex. A search of the area had negative results and police have obtained a warrant for Sipe on the charges of resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension and disorderly conduct. Anyone with information on Sipe’s whereabouts is asked to call 911. Clearfield-based state police and Clearfield and Curwensville Borough police assisted with the incident.
- Police conducted a warrant service Saturday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. During a traffic stop, a passenger who was identified as Tyler Holt was found to have three active warrants through the township and Clearfield Borough police. Holt was subsequently housed in county jail on the warrants.
- On Friday police received a report about a gun possibly being stolen from a Clarendon Avenue residence in Hyde. According to police, a woman stated she was in the process of settling her father’s belongings after his passing and discovered a Smith & Wesson 380 Body Guard handgun was missing. Police haven’t been able to locate the gun and it was entered into the National Crime Information Center and CLEAN.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute Friday on Garman Lane. During the incident, a couple engaged in a verbal altercation over property while they were moving out of their apartment. It was witnessed by neighbors and reportedly became physical in nature. Both were cited for harassment and disorderly conduct through the district court.
- Police conducted a traffic stop Saturday on Washington Avenue. When contact was made, police detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Subsequently, a search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Charges are to be filed through the district court.
- Police reported that car keys were located Saturday at the Hyde Post Office. Anyone who lost their keys here should contact the township police station.
Sandy Township
- On Sept. 25, police received a report about a phone scam. During the incident, a caller contacted a 58-year-old DuBois man claiming to be from Microsoft and requesting remote access to his computer due to a hack. After he permitted the caller to have access, they were able to take personal information, including a credit card number, that was allegedly used to make several purchases.
- On Sept. 26, police received a report about a phone scam. During the incident, a caller contacted a 74-year-old woman and allegedly attempted to scam her out of money. However, she recognized it as a scam and hung up.
- On Sept. 26, police received a report about a woman screaming in the area of Royer’s on Watson Highway. Officers checked the area but were unable to hear anything.
- Police reported a false alarm occurred Sept. 26 at Station 101.
- On Thursday police received a report from Wal-Mart employees who stated that while using the self-checkout, a 28-year-old Scribner Avenue man used the wrong UPC code to ring up merchandise.
- On Thursday police received a report about two small children walking along the roadway in the area of Rockton and Home Camp roads. However, officers were unable to locate the children.
- Police reported a false alarm that occurred Thursday at Napa.
