CLEARFIELD – A touring cyclist in pursuit of biking around the world made a stop in Clearfield on Tuesday.
Erik Lindholm of Tranas, Sweden has been cycling for 15 months throughout different countries.
His quest began May 15, 2017 when he started out in his hometown in Sweden and traveled to South Korea.
He then flew to Vancouver, Canada and crossed into the United States via North Dakota.
Lindholm said it has been his dream since childhood to have a “big adventure” and prepared for his journey for nearly five years before setting out.
Noting that his worst experience has been enduring the weather, his touring bike is well equipped and he is pretty self-sufficient.
He said the people he has met along the way have been friendly and encouraging and he enjoys an occasional break to take in local culture and food.
Lindholm dined on meatballs and pasta at St. Charles Café, where a well-wisher picked up his tab, before trekking on to New York.
