CLEARFIELD– Children’s Aid Society’s adoption and foster care program, in conjunction with the Relatives as Parents Program, will hold a new support group series for parents, starting July 16. The program is free and is open to foster and adoptive parents or anyone acting in the parental role to a related child.
The support group meets the third Monday of each month from 6-8 p.m. at Children’s Aid Society, 1008 S. Second St., Clearfield. A light dinner, child care, training hours, and family activities are include.
The scheduled topics are as follows: July 16, “Coffee and Conversation;” Aug. 20, “Internet Safety,” and a speaker from PASSAGES; Sept. 17, ADHD and a speaker from Clarion Psychiatric Center; Oct. 15, “Meeting Children’s Needs,” with guest speaker Amy Finn; Nov.19, “Healthy Eating,” with Penn State Extension; and Dec. 17, holiday celebration.
