State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred June 11 at River Hill Coal in Karthaus Township. The suspect remains unknown and there wasn’t any further information available. State police are continuing their investigation at this time. State police at DuBois
- State police investigated a drug-related incident that occurred Saturday in the 1300 block of Main Street in Brockway Borough. According to the report, a trooper received an anonymous tip that Jason A. Chicola, 38, of Brockway was in possession of methamphetamine. He had been observed parking in the lot at Bill’s Place. Chicola was informed about the tip and cooperated, telling state police he was in possession of a small amount of the drug. Both a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were allegedly located in a black bag on the back of Chicola’s motorcycle. Chicola was arrested and lodged in the Jefferson County Jail with charges filed through the district court.
- State police conducted a sobriety checkpoint in their patrol area on Saturday. As a result, there were two DUI arrests and one misdemeanor arrest. Also, there were multiple summary traffic violations observed in which 11 citations and 17 warnings were issued.
- State police received a report about an incident of burglary, theft and criminal mischief that occurred between May 27 and June 12 at a camp/house located on the Greenville Pike in Bloom Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s property and removed a brown-colored “horn chair” valued at around $1,000. State police say they also took a piano stool and threw it from a rear window, damaging it. This, state police say, is the second reported burglary at this property since December of 2017 and they are establishing suspects to follow-up on. - State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred Thursday or Friday on Hemlock Road in Brady Township. State police at Philipsburg
- On May 25, state police investigated an incident during which there was transmission of a sexually explicit image by a minor. During the incident, a 13-year-old Philipsburg girl allegedly sent a nude photograph of herself via Snap Chat to a known juvenile. She was cited appropriately through the district court.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that involved two juveniles on June 13 at the Slab Town Park in Philipsburg Borough. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Saturday on North Centre Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a 46-year-old Philipsburg man allegedly removed items from Weis Market without paying for them. He was cited for the incident through the district court.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about a hit-and-run that occurred Friday on Thompson Town Road near Gilbert Road in Ferguson Township. According to state police, a 34-year-old woman crashed her vehicle and then fled the scene without notifying authorities. The investigation determined the identity of the driver and charges will be filed against her.
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Saturday in the area of Covered Bridge Road and Fetterman Lane in Bell Township. During the incident, someone allegedly drove an all-terrain vehicle onto the victim’s property, destroying the yard. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-938-0510.
- State police received a report about a burglary that occurred Friday on the Patchin Highway in Burnside Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s residence while he was asleep through an unlocked door and removed a key for the residence and a collectible photo. - State police reported an incident of DUI that occurred Friday on Thompson Town Road near Gilbert Road in Ferguson Township. During a traffic stop, a 60-year-old man was allegedly found to be under the influence. Charges will be filed through the district court.
- State police received a report about criminal mischief that occurred Sunday in multiple municipalities in Jefferson County. During the incident, someone allegedly caused damage to at least two dozen mailboxes. State police believe the suspects are male and caused the damage from a vehicle without lights to avoid detection. The crimes occurred in municipalities, which include but are not limited to Union, Clover, Rose, Oliver, Knox and Pine Creek townships. Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct that occurred Sunday at Sapp Bros. During the incident, a verbal argument escalated when a male allegedly punched out the front, passenger’s side window of the victim’s vehicle. The male sustained injuries but refused any treatment from emergency personnel. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about an incident of public drunkenness that occurred Friday on Clarendon Avenue. Upon arrival, police say they found a male intoxicated and lying along the roadway. He had previously been involved in a domestic incident and was taken into custody. The male was housed in county jail with charges pending.
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct and harassment that occurred Friday on Flegal Road. During a domestic, a female allegedly struck a male and it caused injury to him. Charges are to be filed as a result.
- Police received a report about a theft from a motor vehicle, along with an attempted incident, that occurred Monday at two Bowman’s Hill Road residences. The first caller told police four people were possibly attempting to gain access to a vehicle in their driveway. A second caller contacted police, alleging two flashlights and $10 in change were taken from a pick-up truck in their driveway. Anyone with information is asked to contact township police.
