Helene Louise Eminhizer, 91, of Drifting went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born April 9, 1927 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Steinkirchner Folmar.
On April 23, 1946, she wed Rodman Otto Eminhizer, who preceded her in death in 2013.
Surviving are her daughters, Gloria Evans and her husband, Al of Dallas, Texas, Mary Kay Sperfslage and her husband, Steve, Brent Eminhizer and his wife, Annie and Scott Eminhizer and his wife, Toni, all of Drifting, and Anita Ravert and her husband, Charles of Morrisdale; grandchildren, Robert, Randy, Rod, Jason Scott, Jody Lynn, Michael, Jennifer, Jonathon, Corey and Chantel; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Danielle, Ashley, Jarod, Lacey, Cody, Brodey, Kodey, Christopher, Michael, Joshua, Jessica, Emily, Cameron, Gage, Nevaeh and Catrin; and great-great-grandchildren, Kadey, Kimber, Slade and Rylann Rose.
She was the last of her generation. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded by a granddaughter, Lori; sisters, Genieve, Martha, Amanda, Margherita and Carmella; and a brother, Jerome.
Mrs. Eminhizer was a member of the St. Severin Roman Catholic Church, Drifting. She was very dedicated to her church and enjoyed working at the Labor Day picnics.
She was a postmaster for 38 years. She loved spending time with her family and her cat, Missy.
In the summertime, she loved being in her garden and enjoyed swimming in her pool. She taught her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to swim.
She enjoyed going to Florida for the winter months with her husband, Rod, where they spent time playing shuffle board and riding bikes. She also loved shopping and going out to eat.
Family and friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Grassflat. The Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Severin Roman Catholic Church, Drifting with Father David A. Perry Jr. as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
