State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Thursday at Weis Market in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, Cindy Vasquez, 54, of Philipsburg allegedly concealed items in her purse and also failed to scan several items at the self-checkout. She was stopped after leaving the store. The total loss was $31.95, according to state police, and charges were filed through the district court.
State police at Punxsutawney
- On March 22, state police received a report about an incident of endangering the welfare of children at a Hemlock Road residence in McCalmont Township. During a dental exam, a doctor found signs of child neglect. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police reported on a drug incident that occurred March 17 on Big Run Road in Big Run Borough. A traffic stop was conducted for summary violations. Upon further investigation, it was found that two Punxsutawney men were allegedly in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed through the district court.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about a retail theft that occurred April 2 at the Wal-Mart store in St. Marys. During the incident, a 17-year-old St. Marys boy allegedly removed one item, which was valued at $1.79. Charges were filed through the district court.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a disorderly male Monday in the area of Turnpike Avenue and Mill Road. Clearfield Borough police received a report about the same male yelling and screaming. He was located walking along Mill Road and taken into custody. He was allegedly found in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. Police say the male was housed in county jail on a probation detainer and charges will be filed against him.
- Police reported an incident of DUI that occurred Saturday on South Second Street. According to police, a male driver was stopped for an equipment violation. Upon speaking with him, police allegedly detected an odor of alcohol and observed an open Michelob Ultra in plain view. Police found the male had been consuming alcohol and he was placed under arrest for DUI. He was taken to the hospital for a legal blood draw and lodged in county jail.
- Police received a report about an incident of theft April 5 at the Clearfield Junior-Senior High School. During the incident, a 12-year-old female allegedly stole property belonging to a 13-year-old female. The property was then given to a 15-year-old male. Police are continuing their investigation with charges pending.
DuBois City
- Police were requested to contact a male residing in the 500 block of South Avenue. He told police that his dog was attacked by his neighbor’s dog. His dog reportedly sustained injuries. Police are continuing their investigation at this time, and charges are currently pending.
- While on patrol, police pulled over a driver for traffic violations. Upon further investigation, police found the driver was allegedly in possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed against the driver as a result.
