CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District will be bolstering safety measures at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High and Clearfield Area Elementary schools.
On Monday night, the school board authorized the administration to:
- develop an agreement with Lawrence Township to provide a school resource officer for use in the district’s buildings. The final agreement will be reviewed and presented to the board for approval.
- implement School Gate Guardian, a school visitor software system, at both buildings.
- implement the Navigate Prepared emergency operations software.
- approve the purchase of two Public Address Systems, one for each school, using PPEM Pricing at a cost not to exceed $75,000.
Superintendent Terry Struble said with the School Gate Guardian System, visitors will be required to present an identification card at the school offices.
It will scan registries, such as Megan’s Law, and also the district’s software for custody disputes or concerns.
The Navigate Prepared software, he said, will put the district’s emergency operations plan in a format to be accessible to local first responders and faculty.
“They will basically have our plan in the palm of their hand,” Struble said.
