George Alvin Simcox, 70, of Curwensville died Friday, March 23, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
Born Oct. 27, 1947 in Clearfield, he was the son of Llewelyn J. and Alice (Milliron) Simcox.
Mr. Simcox was the owner/operator of Simcox Trucking Inc., and had also served in the National Guard.
He was a former member of the Noble Lodge No. 489 Free & Accepted Masons in Curwensville. He was a former member of the Clearfield Shrine Club and the Jaffa Shrine.
On Aug. 31, 1968 in Clearfield, he wed the former Lorna J. Carter, who survives along with three children, Keith Simcox and his wife, Tanya of Curwensville and Kevin J. Simcox and his significant other, Carol “Missy” Aughenbaugh and Katrina Brink and her husband, Alan both of Clearfield.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, one great-grandson and a sister, Linda Chuhran of Ebensburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with Pastor Brenda Libreatori officiating.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and again from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
