CLEARFIELD – A 34-year-old Curwensville man, Cory Irwin, is wanted for failure to appear for court in two separate drug cases.
According to District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., Irwin recently failed to appear for both Sentencing Court and Criminal Call. Warrants were subsequently issued for his arrest.
On Nov. 30, 2017, Officer Alex Burkett of the Clearfield Borough police charged Irwin with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, F; criminal conspiracy/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, F; possession of a controlled substance, M; and use/possession of drug paraphernalia, M.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, around midnight Nov. 30, 2017, police observed a male while he was standing outside a vehicle. Four people were observed inside when officers approached them.
Officers made contact with the driver who was later identified as Julie Fogle. She and her front-seat passenger, Trevor Brubaker, were in the area to visit Irwin. Irwin was seated in the rear of the vehicle.
During their encounter with the occupants, officers observed a large sum of cash. It was also apparent they were nervous. Police subsequently requested assistance from a drug K-9 unit.
Prior to the K-9 unit’s arrival, Fogle allegedly admitted to officers that there was methamphetamine and scales inside the vehicle.
A k-9 alerted on the vehicle and officers located a large quantity of methamphetamine, U.S. currency, scales, and various items of drug paraphernalia.
During an interview with police, the occupants allegedly admitted to distributing methamphetamine.
A preliminary hearing was held Dec. 6, 2017, at which time all charges were held to court. On March 8, Irwin failed to appear at Criminal Call, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
In a separate case, Irwin failed to appear for Sentencing Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was previously charged with possession of a controlled substance, M; use/possession of drug paraphernalia, M; and prohibited offensive weapon, M1.
Irwin is described as a Caucasian male who stands 6 feet, 1-inch tall. He has blonde hair and blue eyes.
