CURWENSVILLE – St. Francis University student, Hannah Hoover, recently processed and delivered books from the Clearfield Area United Way’s Reading Ripples Project to a local pre-school.
The books were presented to St. Timothy’s Pre-school Director Jill Test and her students as part of Read Across America Day.
“It is our intention to improve lives in measurable and lasting ways by mobilizing the caring power of thousands of people in our area communities,” Hoover commented.
She added: “Gently-used books are collected for Reading Ripples, then coordinated, processed and distributed.” CAUW helps agencies throughout eastern, southern and central Clearfield County.
Tax-deductible donations can be made to CAUW, 18 N. Second St., P.O. Box 1430, Clearfield, PA 16830. Information is available at 814-765-6521.
Hoover also commented, “We have another 100 children’s book available currently if we get a call. We would be glad to deliver them to children’s groups who love to read.”
