John Parada Jr., 69, of Philipsburg died Friday, March 9, 2018 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born Jan. 9, 1949, he was a son of John and Maxine (Harper) Parada, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was a 1967 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the American Legion, Smith-Pletcher Post No. 779, Centre Hall. He was a retired truck driver and heavy equipment operator.
He was married Feb. 23, 1974 in West Decatur to the former Bonnie K. Vieard, who survives at home.
He is also survived by two sons, John Parada and his wife, Jennifer of (Parsonville) RD Brisbin and Charles Parada and his wife, Shannon of Philipsburg; four grandchildren, Megan Parada of St. Marys, Briana and Desiree Parada of (Parsonville) RD Brisbin and Lauren Parada of Philipsburg; one sister, Kathleen Enck of (Glass City) RD Philipsburg; one brother, Lawrence Parada of Centre Hall; and a number of nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
The arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg.
