CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County 4-H Teen Council held its regular business meeting March 7 at Buck’s Pizza of Clearfield.
The main agenda item was finalizing plans for the upcoming eighth annual In-door Easter Egg-Stravaganza.
It will take place March 17 at the Expo II Building at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and the event will conclude by 3 p.m.
Although the event is now in its eighth year, this will be the first time the council is hosting the event.
Members are also excited to be working in a joint effort with Clearfield County Fair Queens for a Cause.
All proceeds will benefit both the Clearfield County 4-H Program and the Children’s Miracle Network.
The goal of this event is to provide a fun, family-friendly opportunity for the community while supporting great causes. Activities will include:
- Egg hunts for children who are 12 years and under. These will begin at 1 p.m. and run in three age divisions. To participate, registration is needed by 12:30 p.m. A $1 donation per child secures entrance to the egg hunt and also enters each child into a drawing for prizes, including bicycles. All egg hunt participants will receive goodie bags and a few lucky participants will receive additional prizes.
- A coloring contest for youth ages 3 to 12 years, which is being sponsored by Neeper’s Sweet Treats. Coloring pages and a complete list of rules are available at Neeper’s or on the Facebook event page. All entries must be received between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on the day of the event, and prizes will be given to the winners of each of the three age divisions (3-6, 7-9 and 10-12 years of age).
- Nine local, youth-oriented or non-profit vendors will be on-hand and each will provide a giveaway open to all youth participants.
- Kid-friendly games, face painting and crafts will be available for 25 cents each or for $5 for unlimited play. There will also be a dime toss, which is open to adults.
- Photos with the Easter Bunny.
- Food booth with hot dogs, chips, drinks and baked goods.
The council thanks the local businesses, organizations and community members for their outpouring of support through both monetary and in-kind donations, as well as promotion of the program.

The council is always seeking new members between the ages of 12 to 18 years as of Jan. 1 to take part in leadership opportunities throughout the county, region, state and beyond.
The council meets every other month on the first Wednesday of the month with the next meeting taking place on May 2 at 6 p.m. with the location to be determined.
4-H is a youth development program of Penn State University for youth ages eight to 18, as of Jan. 1.
