CLEARFIELD – Here is a brief review of some important items of business that were discussed at Tuesday’s Clearfield Municipal Authority meeting.
The Pine Grove North water main extension project may be extended. The state Department of Environmental Protection has notified Engineer Jim Balliet there is more money available, which will allow for the waterline to be extended even further.
Balliet said they would not be able to determine how much further the waterline would be extended until DEP is able to tell them how much more grant money is available.
CMA representatives are working to arrange a meeting with their engineer, representatives of Lawrence Township’s supervisors and the township’s engineer in regards to the Hyde Sanitary Sewer Overflow.
DEP has given the township and CMA until September to close the SSO and CMA has concerns about whether the township will meet that deadline.
The SSO will probably be opened three to four times this month and there is a fine each time. After the September deadline, the fine will increase to $10,000 per day.
