CLEARFIELD – Several items of business were discussed during Tuesday’s Lawrence Township Supervisor’s meeting.
Solicitor Jim Naddeo reminded the supervisors that there are some zoning changes to be enacted and the process includes advertising the change twice, posting the properties and holding a public meeting.
The supervisors then passed a resolution to begin the process with a public meeting April 17 at 6 p.m., prior to the regular meeting.
Code Enforcement Officer Debra Finkbeiner reminds residents in the area connected to the Hyde Sanitary Sewer Overflow to be proactive and check their properties for violations, including sump pumps, French drains, breaks, leaks, etc.
Roadmaster Ron Woodling asked the supervisors about a township road marked on some maps in the Industrial Park area, T-17603.
Naddeo suggested the supervisors officially vacate the road and also reserve easement for any adjacent land owners and a nearby cemetery for access.
He also reported that the sewer camera, which is jointly owned by the township, Clearfield Borough and Clearfield Municipal Authority, was taken for repairs and it was discovered that past repairs ruined the camera.
The company is working to find a new body and they will need to purchase parts and he is in the process of communicating with the borough and CMA about the issue.
Secretary Barb Shaffner noted there are several seats coming up for appointment on the Recreation Park board, Zoning Hearing board and Joint Airport Authority.
Also, Greg Dixon was reappointed to serve on the Clearfield Municipal Authority board and Valerie Dixon to the library board.
The Wolf Run 5K race will be held May 26 at 9 a.m. in the Industrial Park
Shaffner will also be looking into some paving grants from PennDOT and the Department of Community and Economic Development for next year.
The supervisors also approved purchasing IP system security cameras for the building on George Street at a cost of $1,500, which includes six cameras. Five will be installed and there will be the possibility of adding two more.
