CLEARFIELD – Feb. 20 has been proclaimed as Hoodie Hoo Day by the Clearfield County Commissioners.
It’s a little-known holiday to make a lot of noise to overcome the winter blues. It brings Hoodie Hoo out of the forest to scare off winter, says Jane Lee Yare, who organizes events locally.
This year she said they will begin their rounds downtown at Spanky’s Courthouse Café. She said they’ll visit other local businesses and invite people to make a whole lot of noise and play “shoot the Groundhog.”
Yare said they have plenty of little prizes to give out to those who participate in games. Any proceeds from Hoodie Hoo events will benefit the Clearfield Center for Active Living.
