Charles E. ‘Chard’ Casher, 72, of Mineral Springs died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
He was born June 14, 1945 in Clearfield, a son of the late William and Margaret (Snyder) Casher.
He was employed by A&P Plant in Horseheads, NY. After moving back to Clearfield, he was employed by Penn Line and most recently with Community Action.
He had a love for racing and owned his own stock car. His biggest love was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a great relationship with them and their friends, many even learned to call him “Pappy.”
He was a member of Bible Tabernacle of Mineral Springs
He is survived by his wife, Hope (Wisor) Casher and four sons, Rick Casher and his wife, Jennifer of Woodland, Aaron Casher and his wife, Rhonda and Craig Casher and his wife, Denise, all of Mineral Springs, and Bryan Casher and his fiancée, Cheri Bumbarger of Curwensville.
He’s survived by 11 grandchildren, Morgan Holden and husband, Jimmy, Courtney Casher and significant other, Shadoe Bauman, Taylor Smolko and husband, Keith, Kasey Casher and wife, Sarah, Shannon Casher, Alyssa Bumbarger and husband, Nate, Darien Casher and fiancé, Levi Picard, Haylee Casher, Luke Casher, Bryanna Casher, and Hadley Casher and fiancé, Caleb Heichel; two step-granddaughters, Madison and Kelsi Bumbarger; seven great-grandchildren, Hayden and Bristol Holden, Colton Smolko, Kolbie Peters, Emerson Bauman, Amyah Bumbarger and Wrenlee Heichel, as well as two great-grandchildren who he was anxiously expecting.
He is also survived by three brothers, Hershey Lee Casher and his wife, Joy of Virginia, Jim Casher and his wife, Nylene of Tioga and William ‘Buck’ Casher of Clearfield and a sister, Carol Cody and her husband, Bill of Tioga.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Hillary Casher and two sisters, Ruth Wilson, Audrey Wisor.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Pry officiating. Burial will follow in the Stoneville Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
