CLEARFIELD – A Coalport man will spend time in state prison for possessing methamphetamine.
Christopher Michael McBride, 26, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance ant two summaries during a special session of sentencing court Monday.
Judge Fredric J. Ammerman sentenced him to nine months to three years in state prison.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Feb. 17, 2017 McBride’s vehicle was stopped by police because the registration had expired.
He admitted to police that his driver’s license was suspended and he might also have an active warrant. When the officer ran McBride’s info, he did have warrants.
McBride pleaded with the officer saying he did not want to go to jail and he could help police because he knew about the methamphetamine problem in the area.
He said he had meth on him that he had just purchased from another man, Evan Schenk, who had additional meth at his residence.
This led to a warrant being served on Schenk’s residence, according to previous reports. Police found approximately two grams of meth. Schenk pleaded guilty and was sentenced in October to one to three years in state prison.
