CLEARFIELD – The 2018 edition of the UMI Autocross and Cruise-In is destined to be one for the record books, announces UMI Performance Inc.
New this year will be racing on the short-course, road race track at UMI Motorsports Park, which is located in Clearfield.
UMI Performance described this year’s event as “auto-x on steroids with some road racing thrown in for fun.” This event will test both car and driver in a fast, safe, spectator-friendly environment.
The 2018 UMI Autocross and Cruise-In is also a points event for the Autocross’ (www.autocrossguys.com) new series and also includes the new Spec Tire class.
The seventh annual Cruise-In car show will now be held entirely at the UMI Motorsports Park.
According to UMI Performance, it will be a unique experience with race cars and show cars, food and drinks, a band or two and a grand finale of some laps around the Motorsports Park.
“This is your opportunity to show your car all afternoon and then drive that hot rod on a real race track – with a pace car of course – and maybe even do a burnout in a safe environment,” organizers say.
The weekend includes plenty of fun for all, including a Thursday night social time at favorite local restaurants (to be determined) and a Friday night open house and barbecue at the UMI factory.
For those spending the entire weekend, UMI Performance is guaranteeing “you’ll enjoy a great combination of cars, racing, friends, food and fun.”
UMI’s 2018 Cruise-In welcomes cars and motorcycles of all types. The event is free to spectators.
