HUNTINGDON — Huntingdon turned the game around in the third quarter and went on to pin a 55-50 loss on Clearfield in Mountain League schoolgirl basketball action Tuesday night.
Brooke Cline matched her career high with 20 points to lead a trio of Lady Bison who accounted for all but six of their points.
Alayna Ryan and Megan Durandetta checked in with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
All three had a pair of three-pointers as the Lady Bison outscored the Lady Bearcats 46-40 from the floor.
Free throws were one-sided, however, with the winners going to the line 20 more times than the Lady Bison and winding up with a 15-4 advantage.
Clearfield (5-11, 3-6 ML) lost Nikki Brossard to fouls in the fourth quarter, while three of her teammates finished with four apiece.
The Lady Bison rode an 18-11 edge in the second period to a 30-23 lead at halftime, but the Lady Bearcats wiped that out with the first seven points of the third quarter and were ahead 41-37 going to the final eight minutes.
“We came out flat in the second half, but we did everything else right except win,” Clearfield coach Joey Castagnolo said.
Huntingdon (9-5, 6-3) also had three players in double figures, Kynnedy Miller and Maddie Gearhart with 12 points apiece and Allie Troup with 11. They were a combined 9-for-11 at the charity stripe.
The Lady Bison will be out to put the brakes on a three-game slide Friday when they play their third consecutive road game against Bellefonte, a team they defeated 51-42 on Dec. 19.
