DUBOIS – The administration of DuBois Central Catholic will be hosting an ‘open house’ for prospective students and their families on Sunday, Jan. 28, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
This event is being held in conjunction with National Catholic Schools Week and kicks off the school’s week-long celebration.
According to Headmaster Gretchen Caruso, DCC is one of 6,429 Catholic schools in the United States.
From 1:15 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., a brief presentation for visiting families will take place in the auditorium, followed by school tours of all four wings and a meet-and-greet with faculty.
The theme ‘A School on a Mission’ is being coordinated by DCC’s marketing department. The elementary staff will provide activities, games and treats for the younger students. Select middle and high classrooms will have activities, too.
According to Mrs. Carol Bernat, elementary principal, and Mrs. Dawn Bressler, middle and high school principal, visiting parents will be able to tour A, B, C and D wings to meet faculty and staff.
According to Debora Kruise, director of marketing, tours can also be arranged during school hours, evenings or weekends to suit the schedules of interested families not able to attend this open house but still wishing to learn more about DuBois Central Catholic’s curriculum.
An informational table in the school foyers will be manned by school staff.
Anyone not able to attend the ‘open house’ or have questions about pre-school or kindergarten registration should call 814-371-2570, Ext. 621; questions about admissions for Grades 1 through 12 should be directed to Kruise in the Admissions Office at 814-371-6689.
Financial Aid, scholarship information and deadlines for next school year will also be available.
Caruso adds, “National Catholic Schools Week was begun in 1974 to recognize the contributions Catholic schools make to not only the church, but also to local communities and the nation at large, and we are happy to be a part of this proud tradition.”
