Helen Andrews Morris, 89, of Winston-Salem, NC went to be with her Heavenly Father on Jan. 17, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC.
She was born in Coalport to the late Fermin C. and Mary Reilly Andrews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Eileen Andrews and Betty Long and brothers, Patrick, James and Larry Andrews.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” C. Morris; her sons, Jeffrey (Cindi) Greenawalt of Etters and Robert (Nancy) A. Morris of Kernersville, NC; and her daughters, Linda (John) Lackey of Lewisville, NC, Lisa (Jeff) French of Reidsville, NC and Laurie (Kim) Borgerson of Pfafftown, NC.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Meredith (Danny) Stempkowski, Madison Lackey, John Lackey, Katie French, Kathryn French and Andrew Morris; great-grandchildren, Logan and Brayden Stempkowski; sister, Miriam (Jim) Jacobs of Dean, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from the Coalport-Irvona High School in 1945. She was a strong woman and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a stay-at-home mother and when the children were all in school, she worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was of the Methodist faith, and she enjoyed reading.
In their empty nest years, she and her husband enjoyed square dancing with the Twin City Twirlers and other local groups. They traveled the country, attending conventions and even dancing in the Pentagon.
The family will have a small family service. The Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home of Clemmons, NC is assisting the family with arrangements.
