Elizabeth F. ‘Betty’ Carper, 91, of Frenchville died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at the Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital.
She was born Aug. 15, 1926 in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Charles J. and Anna M. (Guenot) Rougeux.
Mrs. Carper was a housewife as well as a former small business owner.
She was a member of the Frenchville Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and she enjoyed hunting and fishing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter, Madyson.
She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville, where she enjoyed helping with various church functions.
She is survived by her son, Chalmer ‘Dean’ Carper Jr. and Melissa Ball of Frenchville; a granddaughter, Madyson R. Carper; and a sister-in-law, Lois Rougeux of Frenchville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer ‘Chip’ D. Carper Sr., on April 6, 1994.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Pudvar and Louise Habovick and three brothers, Thomas C. Rougeux, George A. Rougeux and Robert C. Rougeux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville, with the Rev. David Perry as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church.
