Lucille E. Smith, 92, formerly of LeContes Mills, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born June 25, 1925 in Olanta, a daughter of the late Atlee and Verda (Robbins) Peoples.
Mrs. Smith was employed at McGregor’s Sportswear and Clearfield Furs.
She was a member of the Flegal Road Church of Christ, Clearfield. She was also a member of the LeContes Mills Fireman Auxiliary and the Senior Center in Karthaus.
She is survived by five children, Shirley Gormont and her husband, Ronald and Melvin Smith and his wife, Mary, all of Clearfield, Donna Kowalcyk of Florida, Kathy Santaite and her husband, Dominick of New Jersey and Kenneth Smith and his wife, Tawny of Glen Hope.
She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and four sisters, Alice Clark, Ellen Haddow, Gloria Tripp and Mary Ann Elensky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Smith, on July 4, 2000 and to whom she was wed July 27, 1943 in Clearfield.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Geraldine Diehl, Elenor Daub and Emma Marlette and four brothers, Wesley, Harold, Jerry and James Peoples.
As per Mrs. Smith’s wishes, there will be no services held.
