Jason R. Kane, 46, of Thomasville died Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.
He was born June 9, 1971 in Clearfield, a son of Kitty L. (Mayhew) Kane of Philipsburg and the late Daniel Kane.
He will be remembered for his hard work ethic and vast amount of talents.
He served with the U.S. Navy from 1989-1993 as a member of the presidential ceremonial guard as well as a cryptologic technician.
After his military service, he had trained to be a policeman, worked as a mechanic and an electrician as well as having trained as a mechanic.
He was very skilled with computers. He also had a love of music, playing bass guitar in many bands, including Double Down and Goin’ for Broke.
Above everything, he will be remembered for being an exceptional man in all aspects of the meaning. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
He had a huge heart and cared for the well-being of everyone, especially his family. He cared about God and loved hunting and animals.
He was talented and a very special human being who touched everyone who knew him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Janell Kane of Thomasville; four sons, Mason, Steven, Michael and Daniel Kane, all of Punxsutawney; his first wife, Karen Kurten of Punxsutawney; a sister, Shannon Saltsman and her husband, Todd of Woodland; a niece, Kimberly Saltsman of Philipsburg; and numerous aunts, uncles and other close family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Ethel M. Mayhew and paternal grandparents, Robert and Genevieve Kane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with the Rev. Brandon M. Kleckner as celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.
