State police at Philipsburg
- State police reported on a drug incident that occurred Aug. 27 on North Ninth Street near its intersection with U.S. Route 322 in Philipsburg Borough. According to state police, a vehicle was stopped for a code violation, and Benjamin Barner of Philipsburg was a passenger. He was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine and pharmaceutical drugs. Charges were filed through the district court.
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Dec. 24 on North Fourth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly slashed a tire belonging to the victim.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Dec. 7 on Buterbaugh Road in Cherry Tree. During the incident, someone allegedly destroyed a window in the porch of the victim’s residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Punxsutawney at 814-938-0510.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded for a reported alarm on Ogden Avenue. Upon arrival, police found the residence secured; there weren’t any signs of entry.
- Police returned property to the owner after it was located and turned over to Pennsylvania State Police.
- Police responded to the area of Gulich Avenue, where a vehicle had lost a tire. The tire then struck a vehicle that was traveling in the opposite direction. No injuries were reported as a result, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Police responded to a report about a vehicle that was swerving along South Front Street.
- Police are investigating an alleged theft. During the incident, police say that a credit card was stolen and used to make several online purchases.
- Police responded to West Cherry Street, where someone reportedly knocked on the back door of a residence and then fled. Police searched the area but were unable to locate anyone.
- Police assisted the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office with serving a Protection from Abuse order along East 14th
- Police are investigating an alleged retail theft at a business along River Road.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a resident along South Fourth Street. Police were able to locate the resident and found that they were OK.
Lawrence Township
- Police reported on a drug-related DUI incident that occurred Friday in the area of Williams Street and Eckles Way in Lawrence Township. According to police, a vehicle was stopped for a minor traffic violation and police made contact with the driver. Police detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. Upon further investigation, police allegedly located drug paraphernalia and determined the driver was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was subsequently taken to the hospital for a blood draw, which he refused. Police released him to a sober person, and all evidence was sent to the Erie Crime Lab for analysis. Charges will be filed against the driver.
- Police reported on a drug-related DUI incident that occurred Thursday on Route 879 in Lawrence Township. According to police, a driver was stopped for several traffic violations. Upon making contact with him, it was determined he was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance and wanted by another agency. He was housed in county jail, and charges will be filed against him.
DuBois City
- Police were dispatched to assist a homeless person at Sheetz on North Brady Street. Police located assistance through AGAPE and Sheetz provided a meal; the store also permitted the person to wait there for transportation.
- Police received a report about a disturbance on Olive Avenue. According to police, two neighbors were arguing over borrowed money. Police advised them to have no further contact and then cleared the scene.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle at the intersection of North Church Street and East Scribner Avenue. The driver was able to get the vehicle to operate again, which cleared the intersection.
- Police were requested to assist with insurance issues after a traffic accident. Police made contact with the people involved and were able to resolve the issues.
