Faye Ross, 89, of Houtzdale and a guest of Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 at Windy Hill Village.
Born Dec. 9, 1928 in Utahville, she was the daughter of Thomas and Minnie (Weld) Price.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Houtzdale, and the church’s Esther Circle.
Before her retirement, she worked for Sylvania, The Progress and Community Action. She also owned and operated Faye’s Beauty Shop.
She had been an auditor for Woodward Township and a trustee for Houtzdale Days.
She enjoyed knitting, bowling and her pet, Peanuts.
On June 15, 1948, she married Donald Ross, who preceded her in death Jan. 9, 2007.
She is survived by two sons, Donald (Deborah) Ross of Houtzdale and Edward Ross and his companion, Brenda Brehens of Manteca, Calif.; four grandchildren, Shaun Ross, Shannon C. Ross, Brook C. (Mike)Harmon and Chira N. (Landon) Matson; nine great-grandchildren, Andrew Ross, Samuel Ross, Cameron Ross, Jordan Matson, Jayda Matson, Paige Harmon, Easton Harmon, Victoria Weber and Austin Weber.
Also surviving are a sister, Wanda Bollinger of Beaver Valley and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brothers, Ivan and Lester Weld and Russell Price; and infants, Harry and Virginia Weld.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale, with Pastor Clare Pannebaker officiating.rried Donald Ross who preceded her indeath on January 9, 2007.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
