Sussie Petriskie, 91, of (Troy) RD Philipsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
Born Sept. 24, 1926, in Royal Oak, Mich., she was a daughter of the late John and Anne (Slother) Swartz.
She was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Philipsburg.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and working crossword puzzles. She was an accomplished seamstress and a self-taught typist and pianist.
She was married June 20, 1945 in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Cumberland, Md., to Frank Petriskie, who preceded her in death Aug. 29, 1988.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joanne Shalla; three brothers, Michael, Paul and George Swartz; two half-sisters, Becky Stauffer and Anna Brelo; and two half-brothers, Auman and Andrew Brelo, in addition to her parents and husband.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen R. Petriskie of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Susan Jean Sharer and her husband, Boyd of (Troy) RD Philipsburg; one son, Frank G. Petriskie of West Decatur; one sister, Sophie Rebo of Clearfield; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg, with the Rev. Fr. Robert McKay IV officiating.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
