Mary Ellen Hainsey, 92, of Ginter died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born March 29, 1925 in Osceola Mills, she was the daughter of the late John Plummer and Anna (Franek) Plummer Legan.
She was a life-long member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey, and a 1943 graduate of the Madera High School.
She was employed by Penn State University until her retirement in 1987.
On Nov. 26, 1945 in Bellefonte, she married William R. Hainsey, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol (William) Vogle; a son, William (Maureen) Hainsey; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Glenda) Vogel and Bonnie (Kevin) Reimer; and four great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Cassandra Vogel and Emily and Matthew Reimer.
Also surviving are a nephew, John Plummer and a niece, Janet Plummer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 29, 1971 and a brother, John Plummer, who died in 2015.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with Father Zab Amar officiating. There will be no public visitation. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
