State police at DuBois
- State police reported a DUI incident that occurred Sunday on Route 219 in Sandy Township. According to state police, a 44-year-old DuBois woman was stopped for several summary traffic violations. While speaking with her, state police allegedly detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. She was subsequently arrested for DUI and other traffic offenses, which are pending blood test results.
- On Saturday state police were dispatched to search for a missing hunter in Polk Township. A search of the area resulted in the 72-year-old Brockway man, David Rankin Stotler Jr., being found deceased. State police say the Jefferson County Coroner determined he’d died from natural causes. State police were assisted by the Warsaw Township Fire Department, Brockway Ambulance, Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services, Pine Creek Township Search & Rescue and the Jefferson County Coroner.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Nov. 27 at Weis Market in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a 20-year-old Mahaffey woman allegedly attempted to remove several items from the store, which totaled $28.06. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police reported a DUI incident that occurred Nov. 14 on Route 36 in Rose Township. A 27-year-old Brookville woman was arrested following a traffic stop, and charges are currently pending through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police served warrants on a male who was stopped after a traffic violation by the Lawrence Township Police Department.
- Police assisted emergency personnel with an overdose along North Fifth Street. Upon arrival, police reportedly found several empty pill bottles and a female was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
- Police received a report about criminal mischief that occurred to a building on East Market Street. During the incident, someone allegedly entered a storage closet and upset items outside.
- Police assisted several motorists who had locked their keys inside their vehicles.
- Police are investigating an incident involving a female and male who were allegedly highly impaired and in custody of three children. Police contacted the county’s Children & Youth Services Department, and the male was taken to the jail on a probation violation.
- Police received a report about an altercation between a male and female in East End. Police say that both had minor marks on them, and their investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police had a phone turned in after it was located along Reed Street. Police were able to locate the owner and return the phone.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle in the Clearfield Driving Park. Police located the vehicle and determined that it had become disabled.
- Police received a report about a noise complaint on East Market Street. After hearing the disturbance, police made contact with the occupants and found that everything was OK.
- Police responded to the River Road area, where a female was reportedly passed out inside a vehicle. Upon arrival, police found the vehicle had left the scene.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft on Nichols Street. Police were able to view surveillance, which showed a female putting items inside her purse and leaving without paying for them.
- Police responded to a noise complaint along South Fifth Street. During the incident, people were reportedly setting off fireworks.
- Police are investigating the alleged theft of dirt bike from a Daisy Street residence.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a retail theft that occurred at a business on West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police made contact with the female suspect and allegedly found multiple items in her possession. Police say these were items from the business that she hadn’t purchased. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about a disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police discovered two sisters were engaged in an argument and fight. Police say they didn’t want to pursue charges against each other and instead decided to part ways.
- While on routine patrol, police observed a Buick Lacrosse being driven erratically – almost hitting curbs and entering the opposing lane – on DuBois Street. Police subsequently conducted a traffic stop and approached the male driver who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest and charges are currently pending at this time.
- While conducting a traffic stop, police could smell burnt marijuana coming from inside a vehicle. Upon further investigation, police allegedly found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana inside the vehicle. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
