Normia Jean Elizabeth (Johnston) Little, 89, of Pittsburgh died Monday, Nov. 27, 2017.
Known as “Pinky” to her friends, she was born May 2, 1928 in Winona, Mo., to the late William and Iva Johnston. Â She grew up in Halstead, Kan.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Samuel Johnston, Gladys Partridge, Theodore Johnston, Ruby Ratzlaff, Wright Johnston, Elmer Johnston, Barbara Pfaffly and Sharron Gaede.
She was the wife of the late Alexis Little. She is survived by sons, Michael Little of Columbus, Wis., Patrick Little and his wife, Judy of Claremont, Calif., and Steven Little and his wife, Adrienne of Pittsburgh.
She was the beloved grandmother of Jennifer MacRostie, Kevin Little, Megan Little, Thomas Little, Alexa Little and Caroline Little and the great-grandmother of Deacon MacRostie.
She was a former Air Force WAF surgical technician, serving at Murphy General Hospital in Waltham, Mass. Â She was also a devoted mother and grandmother.
She provided her children and grandchildren with an excellent role model of a strong, independent woman. She entertained us all with her stories of days past.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home Inc., 1032 Perry Hwy., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
Additionally, friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1 at the Johnson Funeral Home in Grassflat.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at the St. Severin Church. A reception will follow at the Parish Center, Route 53, Drifting.
