Shirley A. Chapman, 87, a resident of Windy Hill Village and formerly of Gearhartville and Lock Haven, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 at the village.
Born March 24, 1930 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Carl R. and Lillian G. (Smith) Weaver.
For most of her life, she worked in retail at clothing stores in Lock Haven. She was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed gardening.
On May 15, 1976 in Bellefonte, she married Charles Fredrick Chapman Sr., who died April 5, 2003.
She is survived by a daughter, Georgiann Brown and her husband, Michael of Osceola Mills; two sons, Joseph Caskey and his wife, Lynne of Mill Hall and Charles F. Chapman Jr. and his wife, Cathy of Gerhartville; five grandchildren, Brent Dennison, Terri Hill, Nicole Curtis, Chase Chapman and Colton Chapman; and four great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her generation and was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, Philipsburg, with the Rev. Dr. Katie Hopper officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
