Robert W. “Bob” Smith, 73, of DuBois died Monday, Nov. 20, 2017 at his home.
Born May 30, 1944 in North Tonawanda, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Clarabelle (Ott) Smith.
On Aug. 16, 1969, he married Margaret F. (Shrubb) Smith. She survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Vietnam War.
He retired as a truckdriver from Preston Trucking in Falls Creek after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed fishing.
He was a well-known “heckler” and enjoyed meeting with his coffee club of retired truck drivers every Tuesday at Valley Dairy.
His is survived by three daughters, Lisa Vought and her husband, Allen and Laura Weimer and her husband, David, both of Rockwood, Pa., and Bobbie Shenkle of DuBois; a brother, Joseph Smith and his wife, Patty of DuBois; six grandchildren, Branden, Katrena, Jess, Jenna, Luke and Lauren; and three great-grandchildren, Brailynn, Brooke and Maddox.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ken McConnaughey and a sister, Kathy Myers.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home. Burial will follow in Beechwoods Cemetery.
