Margaret L. ?Peg? Ogden, 95, of Clearfield died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
She was born March 13, 1922, the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah (Deshong) Mitchell.
On Aug. 26, 1953, she married Stuart R. Ogden of Clearfield. They shared 48 wonderful years blessed with three daughters and the closeness of family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda J. Simpkins and her companion, Jerry Beck of Indianapolis, Ind., and Marla K. Liegey and her husband, Gerard and Barbara A. Malloy and her husband, Daniel, both of Clearfield.
She is survived by six grandchildren, Matthew Simpkins and his wife, Breck, Michael Liegey, Ryan Liegey, Marlaina Caiola and her husband, Anthony, Lucas Malloy and Andrew Malloy and four great-grandchildren, Elijah and Amelia Caiola and Chase and Charlotte Simpkins.
She is also survived by her sister, Hazel Hepburn and her husband, Jack of Clearfield and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Brian Liegey and a brother, Ralph Mitchell.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and registered nurse, she always gave selflessly to others with kindness and sincerity. Even as a fierce competitor at cards, she was a good sport whether she won or lost.
She was a 1944 graduate of Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing and witnessed many historical changes in healthcare during her 40 years as a registered nurse at Clearfield Hospital.
No matter the department or shift, she maintained her focus on caring for her patients first, then her charting. Even after retiring, she remained connected to Clearfield Hospital through the Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing Alumni and retired nurses.
She was an active member at West Side United Methodist Church, The Red Hats Society, Coterie and local card clubs.
Her incredible experiences over 95 years most can only imagine. These included the first automobile and the Great Depression?s test of faith and family. Although her incredible journey through life has ended, her spirit will soar through all that knew her.
A funeral service honoring her wonderful life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor Anthony Caiola officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. ? 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. An additional hour of viewing will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
