According to previously published GANT News articles, the current library building celebrated 20 years this past spring. However, its roof has reached the end of its lifespan and operating expenses continue to increase while financial support from the state government has decreased in recent years.
“The goal of the Capital Campaign is to not only pay for a new roof and other upgrades, but also to increase our permanent endowment so that we can ensure a sustainable future for the library,” says Jayme Stonbraker, library director.
To learn more about the campaign, please visit the library’s Web site at www.ShawLibrary.org and click the “Donate” tab.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone that has donated thus far, putting us that much closer to our goal of $250,000 and a sustainable future,” Stonbraker adds.
