Betty Lorraine Thurston, 75, of New Millport died Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 14, 1942 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of James J. and Ina Pearl (Proud) Irwin.
Mrs. Thurston had worked as an assembler for the former Kent’s Sportswear. She was a homemaker and a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in New Millport.
On Aug. 3, 1963 in the Salem Lutheran Church, she wed Roger Stanley Thurston, who survives.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Israel Rain Thurston, Lindsay Nicole Thurston, Cecelia Pearl Thurston and Ethan James Luzier; a great-grandson, Isaick Thurston; two brothers and two sisters, Alice Jackson and Cindy McCall and her husband, Bob, all of Curwensville, Jesse James Irwin and his wife, Connie of Arizona and George Irwin and his wife, Karen of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Roger J. Thurston and a young sister, Anna Irwin.
Services for Mrs. Thurston will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with Pastor Richard Steuernagle officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
