John F. Coons, 63, of Clearfield died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017. Born Oct. 28, 1954, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Mary Jane (Danver) Coons.
He attended the Curwensville Area High School. He first worked at Berg Electronics and then at Fullington Auto Bus Co.
On Sept. 14, 1991, he wed the former Denise Coble, who survives.
He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Robert Coons and his wife, Connie, Richard Coons and his wife, Janet, Mary Jane Sherman and her husband, Bill, all of Curwensville, and E. Ann Jury and her husband, Butch of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Janet Coons of Clearfield; his father-in-law, Willard Coble of Clearfield; and mother-in-law, Thelma Thompson and her husband, John of Kent, Ohio; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; and special family members, Anthony and Ronald Provost.
Mr. Coons was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Michael Coons; and two nephews, Justin and Jarrod Sherman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Stephen L. Collins officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. They also will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
