DUBOIS – Members of the Penn State DuBois Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) Club paid a visit to the Child Advocacy Center in Clearfield on Oct. 13.
They donated scarves, gloves and hats for children in need. They also received a tour of the facility, and met with the Director Mary Tatum, as well as District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr.
The students learned how the forensic interviewing process works, how many children have been served through the CAC in Clearfield County and about job opportunities for HDFS graduates.
Students gained a better understanding of the services offered through the CAC and the impact of their presence in the local communities.
HDFS graduates work in fields ranging from social work, to mobile therapy, victim advocacy, probation and more.
