CLEARFIELD – A DuBois woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to statutory sexual assault for having sex with a 15-year-old male.
Bobby Jo Gregor, 43, also pleaded guilty to indecent assault and corruption of minors. Judge Paul E. Cherry sentenced her to six months to one year in jail and five years consecutive probation.
She must complete the Project Point of Light program, and 100 hours of community service. It was noted that she was found not to be a sexually violent predator after an evaluation. She is still required to report to authorities under Megan’s Law.
She was fined $850 plus costs and must submit to DNA testing due to the felony charge.
Prior to sentencing, the victim’s mother addressed the court explaining the affect this incident has had on her family.
She said she no longer feels comfortable sending her children anywhere because this happened when her son was staying with a friend.
The teen thinks he is as guilty as Gregor and is attending counseling. Her son also still has to go to school every day with Gregor’s son.
Calling the incident “sick,” she questioned whether Gregor’s actions were premeditated and stated that she hopes this hasn’t happened to another teen.
“I can’t believe a Mom would seduce another child the same age as her child,” she said.
Cherry said this “is a terrible act” and stated Gregor should have known better. “You need help,” he added.
When Gregor’s attorney, David Hopkins, mentioned that the “facts are in dispute,” Cherry responded with “it is not in dispute that she is 40 and he is 15.”
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim’s parents and a family friend reported the crime. This witness explained that she received several texts from the victim who is a friend of her son.
In the texts, he said he had done something “bad.” When she asked him what it was, the victim replied that he had sex with the mother of another friend.
The witness advised the teen to tell his parents, but he said he didn’t want to tell his mother, which is why he was confiding in her.
The next day, this witness and her husband told the victim’s parents what the teen had said.
After the victim’s mother asked him what happened he became teary eyed. They told him he was not in trouble, but they needed details. The victim then began to cry, saying he knew it was wrong.
He explained it started when Gregor began sending him nude pictures. While he was at her home, he said Gregor kissed him and they then had sex on the couch.
When police interviewed the victim, he told them that the morning after he stayed with Gregor’s son, his friend and his brother left with their father while the victim stayed at the home. The incident happened when he and Gregor were alone.
He told investigators that she told him she loved him and kissed him on the lips before they had sex on the couch. Shortly after this, his mother picked him up. Before he left Gregor’s home, the victim said they kissed again.
The victim’s mother noted to police that when she picked him up from Gregor’s house, he was not acting like himself.
During Gregor’s interview with police, she admitted the victim stayed at her home with her son that weekend. She stated they were alone at one point when they started kissing each other. She said he took off his pants before he took her pants off. She admitted he laid on top of her but claimed nothing happened more than that.
After he left, Gregor said she took a shower and cried because she knew what she had done was wrong, according to the complaint.
