CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre Inc. (CAST) is holding a production “off season” to help raise some much-needed funds to replace the roof over its building, a project that will cost this non-profit arts center nearly $10,000.
With Halloween right around the corner, you can get in the spirit, and support the community, by attending the CAST production of The Rocky Horror Show.
One fateful night, Brad Majors and his fiancée, Janet Weiss — a wholesome, well-behaved, utterly normal young couple in love — innocently set out to visit an old professor. Unfortunately for them, this night out is destined to be one they will never forget.
A thunderstorm and a flat-tire force them to seek help at the castle of Dr. Frank ’N’ Furter, an alien, transvestite scientist with a manic genius and insatiable libido. Brad, Janet, and Frank’ N’ Furter’s cohorts are swept up into the scientist’s latest experiment.
The night’s misadventures will cause Brad and Janet to question everything they’ve known about themselves, each other, love and lust. A loving homage to the classic B sci-fi film and horror genres with an irresistible rock ’n roll score, The Rocky Horror Show is a hilarious, wild ride that no audience will soon forget.
Cast members include Erin Brimmeier as Janet, Alex Davis as Brad, Josh Blaylock as Dr. Frank ‘N’ Furter, Kyle Kelly as Rocky, Amanda Hertlein as Magenta, Misti Bruner as Columbia, Ilona Fye as Riff-Raff, Dave Laubacker as the Narrator, Matt Hertlein as Dr. Scott and Chuck Bungo as Eddie.
Phantoms include Mark Bodle, Paul Brimmeier, Kristin Duttry, Lew Duttry, Kristie Johnston, Beth Shaffer, Chris Shaffer and Haley Wallace.
The rock ’n roll pit is made up of Asa Carns on piano, Chuck Bungo on guitar, Travis Garner on bass and Jacob Detelich on drums. Gary Wilsoncroft serves as the rehearsal pianist with Catherine Mandell as vocal coach.
The entire production is under direction of experienced director Robert Roxby, with Jacob Detelich as assistant to the director. Mary Slogosky and Sam Potter are choreographers, with Josh Blaylock assisting.
Stage manager is Doug Fye, set construction is under the leadership of Steve Albert, costume designer is Gayle Gearhart and publicity coordinator is Mason Strouse.
Performances are Oct. 25-27 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 28 and 31 at 10 p.m. Tickets for this fundraiser production are $20 each. Group rates are available by contacting CAST.
Tickets are available online at www.ClearfieldArts.org. The CAST office will be open to sell tickets Oct. 23-24 and 30 from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Tickets will also be sold at the box office 45 minutes prior to each performance.
Audience participation is encouraged. Theater patrons are invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes, sing and dance along with the show and use the provided goodie bags to enhance the viewing experience. This show is intended for mature audiences only.
During intermission, snacks will be available for a donation, and chances to win two free 2018 CAST Season Tickets will be sold. Various raffles, food and chances will be sold each night of the show at intermission, all to support and benefit CAST.
