Dana Andrew Yatta, 49, of Flinton and formerly of Curwensville, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness.
Born Oct. 16, 1967 in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Dennis Yatta and Carol (Wilkinson) Eckley of Flinton.
On Feb. 22, 1992, he married the former Tammie M. Romine, who survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Nichole Marie Yatta of State College and sister, Teresa Ann Yatta Sisk of Texas.
He grew up in Curwensville and was a member of the graduating class of 1987. He went on to proudly serve his country for 12 years in the Naval Branch of the Armed Forces.
He later used the skills he had learned and became employed for more than 10 years as a government contractor teaching others how to operate UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) overseas.
He is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; his step-father, James Eckley; and grandparents, Frank and Virginia Wilkinson and Walter and Bertha Yatta.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at Curwensville Presbyterian Church with Gary Jewart officiating.
Family and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.
