State police at Clearfield
- State police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 970 in Bradford Township. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Shane Lauder, 31, of Woodland was traveling north. He reportedly had a medical issue that caused him to lose control of his vehicle. It exited the west berm and impacted an embankment before becoming airborne and traveling around 50 feet through the air. State police say Lauder’s vehicle landed in a nearby yard and continued in a northwest direction until striking a metal windmill. Upon impact, it continued northwest onto Bishtown Road, at which point his passenger, Destini Swanson, 24, of Woodland grabbed the wheel, steering the vehicle in a clockwise manner in a southwest direction. Lauder was flown to UPMC Altoona for treatment; Swanson was taken to the DuBois Penn Highlands Hospital. Lauder was cited for the crash through the district court. State police were assisted at the scene by Clearfield Fire and Emergency Medical Services and the Bigler-Jackson-Woodland Fire Co.
- State police responded to an all-terrain vehicle accident Saturday on Faunce Road in Knox Township. An ATV driven by Shawneese Traxler, 21, of Houtzdale was traveling south when she reportedly attempted an illegal U-turn. She turned the ATV to the west, and its front end went slightly up an embankment. The ATV subsequently rolled south in a clockwise manner. State police say Traxler’s passenger, Amanda Myers, 19, of Lock Haven was able to get off the ATV before it overturned but Traxler was not able to. The ATV overturned onto Traxler, who was flown to Altoona with suspected injuries. State police were assisted by Madera Fire and EMS. Traxler was cited for the crash through the district court.
State police at DuBois
- State police responded to a crash that occurred Saturday on DuBois – Rockton Road in Union Township. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Justin Philips, 34, of Clearfield was traveling west at the intersection with Helen Lane. For unknown reasons, his vehicle traveled off the north berm and entered a ditch. Then, it continued for around 50 feet before striking a culvert, becoming airborne, striking a mailbox and overturning. Philips’ vehicle came to a final rest on its wheels. State police say Philips was taken to UPMC Altoona with a suspected serious injury. State police were assisted by the Union Township Fire Department, Brady Township Fire and EMS, Oklahoma Fire Department and DuBois EMS.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police reported on an incident of false reports that occurred Sept. 27 on Loch Lomond Road in Rush Township. During the incident, a 57-year-old Philipsburg man contacted state police about the theft of Xanax. Upon further investigation, state police found he’d allegedly filed a false report in order to acquire an incident number to submit to his doctor to get an additional prescription. Charges were filed through the district court as a result.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Saturday on Red Pine Street in Halfmoon Township. During the incident, an 18-year-old Port Matilda man allegedly threatened to physically assault the victim. Charges were filed through the district court as a result.
- State police received a report about a theft from a Polaris Slingshot that occurred Sunday at the Philipsburg Hometown Market in Chester Hill Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly took a black leather jacket that belonged to the victim; the jacket has a golden eagle on the back and several patches on it. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred sometime Thursday or Friday on Game Reserve Road in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took several items off the victim’s porch. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police are conducting a Megan’s Law investigation. According to the report, Dameon Bumbarger, 42, of Philipsburg has failed to comply by providing an update to his registration between March 19 and Aug. 10.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Aug. 23 on Reese Road in Boggs Township. During the incident, a 32-year-old Julian man allegedly continued to contact the victim after being advised not to.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police responded to a crash Saturday on Miller Road in Bell Township. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Renata A. Lee, 61, of Mahaffey was traveling north when she fell asleep. Her vehicle left its lane of travel and went off a small embankment into a pasture. Her vehicle traveled about 120 feet before striking a ditch. Lee’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, and state police were assisted by the Mahaffey Fire Department and Mahaffey Emergency Medical Services.
State police at Ridgway
- State police investigated a fire that occurred Friday at 119 Albert Ln., Graham Township. It started in the back of the residence, and it remains under investigation at this time. State police say damage is estimated at $200,000 and the homeowners did have insurance. State police were assisted by the Morris Township Fire Department.
- State police reported a DUI incident that occurred Sunday in the 200 block of Brusselles Street in St. Marys. According to state police, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driven by a Kersey woman. It was found she’d been in control of the vehicle while allegedly under the influence of alcohol. She was subsequently detained and transported for chemical testing; charges are currently pending at this time.
Clearfield Borough
- Police assisted emergency personnel with a medical emergency at a residence along Nichols Street.
- Police responded to a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of North Front and East Locust streets. According to police, a motorist attempted to make a left-hand turn from the right-hand lane, striking another vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Police were dispatched to the Clay Street area, where a male juvenile reportedly “ran away and was out of control.” While en route to the scene, police say he took off. Police located the male and were able to handle the situation.
- Police were dispatched to the area of East Cherry Street for a group of juveniles who were trespassing. However, the juveniles fled prior to police arrival at the scene.
- Police were advised about an animal complaint along Spruce Street. It was forwarded to animal control.
- Police were dispatched to the area of West Second Avenue for a reported alarm. Upon arrival, police found everything to be OK and secured.
- Police conducted a vehicle stop along West Front Street after a traffic violation. As a result, police found that the passenger had an active arrest warrant through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office. The female was transported to the jail on the warrants.
- Police were dispatched to the area of Daisy Street after a report about suspicious people. Police responded but were unable to locate anyone in the area.
- Police were dispatched for a disorder in the area of East Pine Street. Upon arrival, police could hear a female yelling for help inside the residence. Police were able to make entry and found a male and female engaged in an altercation.
- Police arrested a male for DUI after he was stopped along North Second Street for a traffic violation.
- Police assisted a motorist who had locked their keys inside their vehicle along Reed Street.
- Police were dispatched to the area of West Front Street after a report about a male who appeared to be intoxicated while driving. Police searched the area and were unable to locate the male.
- Police assisted the fire department with mulch that was smoldering along South Third Street. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire.
Lawrence Township
- Police responded to a traffic complaint that occurred on the Clearfield-Curwensville Highway.
- Police received a report about an alleged fight involving two students at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School. It remains under investigation at this time.
- Police assisted personnel from Clearfield County Children & Youth Services at the Lawrence Park Villages.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment in the area of Washington Avenue.
- Police received a report about a motorist who was possibly driving under the influence on Front Street. However, officers were unable to make contact with the motorist.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment in the area of Deacon Road.
- Police received a report about an underage party on Warren Drive. Police subsequently cited several juveniles for the incident.
- Police conducted a warrant service after Clearfield Borough police made contact with the person while handling an incident.
- Police responded to a request of a welfare check in the area of The Discovery House. Police located a female inside her vehicle while she was allegedly under the influence. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about criminal mischief in the area of Legion Road.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute that allegedly involved a firearm on Overlook Drive.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred at the Clearfield Mall.
- Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Route 879. It resulted in a warrant service and a drug violation. Police say a male was housed in county jail, and charges will be filed.
- Police received a report about a male who was causing a disturbance in the drive-up lane at McDonald’s. However, the vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
