Saturday, Sept. 30
Hike Around the Lake:
2 p.m. – Beach House steps
Enjoy a quiet hike around the lake while learning a little about the history of the place.
The Incredible Journey of the Butterflies:
6 p.m. – Environmental Education Classroom
Every year, monarch butterflies make a 2,000-mile journey to a destination high in the mountains of Mexico. Learn more about this amazing feat through this Nova (PBS) video.
Friday, Oct. 6
Leave It to Beavers:
6 p.m. – Environmental Education Classroom
Learn the fascinating story of beavers in North America—their history, their near extinction and their current comeback. There will be a Nature (PBS) video.
Saturday, Oct. 7
Hike the Beaver Dam Trail:
2 p.m. – outside Park Office
Enjoy a relatively flat trail that travels the Mud Run valley for three miles. Take a closer look at some beaver activity and habitat.
A Murder of Crows:
6 p.m. – Environmental Education Classroom
Crows are smart. Learn just how intelligent they really are through this nature (PBS) video.

Auspicious Autumulity—Nature Nut:

DIY Apple Cidering:
2 p.m. – 5 p.m. – behind Beach House
Bring your own apples and cider jugs to make your own cider (under supervision). One bushel of apples will make about 2 and a half gallons of cider. Please limit yourself to about two bushels so that we may process all the cider in a timely manner.

National Chocolate Day Hike:
10 a.m. – outside Park Office
Parker Dam’s first-ever hike for chocolate. It will be a short hike along Souders Trail…and, there will be chocolate.
