Jeffrey Lynn Leigey, 62, of Morrisdale died Sept. 26, 2017.
Born July 20, 1955 in Clearfield, he was son of the late Francis Leigey and Rebecca Maines Leigey.
He was a humble man with a gentle spirit. He loved to be outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life.
He never missed an opportunity to spend time with his daughters and granddaughters, and he shared his love of nature with them, as well.
He married Cheryl Learish on Aug. 1, 1998. They spent 19 wonderful years fishing, going to flea markets and yard sales and traveling every chance they got.
He worked in the coal business all of his life; most recently, he worked for RES Coal LLC in Clearfield. He was always quick to assist anyone at any time.
Surviving are Cheryl Learish Leigey, his wife, the love of his life; two daughters, Michelle (Leigey) Alford and her husband, Joseph Alford and Nicky Leigey; and two granddaughters, Julie Alford and Chesney Boal.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mona (Leigey) Jury and Sharon (Leigey) Dixon and her husband, James Dixon; one brother, Gary Leigey and his wife, Katherine (Livergood) Leigey; sister-in-law, Donna (Jean) Graham; nephew, Gary Lauver and his wife, Carol Lauver; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Curt and Mattie Condon Maines; sisters, Carol Mullen her husband, Gilbert and Barbara Leigey; and brothers-in-law, Harrison Jury, Eddie Lauver and his wife, Birdie and Harold Graham.
Following Mr. Leigey’s wishes, there will be no formal services at this time. However, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
